Dr. Alveda King
Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., appeared on Kevin McCullough's American Family Association radio show this week to discuss gospel singer Donnie McClurkin, who has said God delivered him from “the curse” of homosexuality.
McClurkin was reportedly dis-invited from appearing at the Saturday evening concert “Reflections on Peace: From Gandhi to King” event, which celebrated Dr. King's March on Washington, 50 years later.
During the interview, Alveda King compared homosexuality to "high blood pressure, diabetes and heart trouble" (audio below), noted GoodAsYou.org.
"But even for those who were born without a desire for pro-creation and marriage to the opposite sex, you know... It's not right to say God made me like this. Really, back in the book of Genesis a lot of things happened. That's why people have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart trouble, sexual perversion, all of that," said King.
"There is a way out of that and Donnie (McClurkin) calls it 'deliverance.' He was delivered from the sin of homosexuality. That's his testimony."
