City of Saskatoon and transit drivers continue to hammer out a new labour contract

There is no imminent threat of a transit strike according to Marno McInnes, director of human resources with the City of Saskatoon.
Despite 97 per cent of the city’s bus drivers in the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) voting in favour of the ability to call a strike, McInnes said that’s just part of the negotiation process. McInnes said if a union or association holds a strike vote, it does not trigger an immediate work stoppage. A formal notice must be served 48 hours by either party before that.
