Hundreds of New 844 Toll-free Vanity Numbers Are Now Available To Businesses and Advertising Agencies in North America from 800response

In December 2013, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and SMS/800, the centralized system that manages all toll-free numbers in the United States, released the new 844 toll-free area code. This triggered the release of hundreds of thousands of toll-free phone numbers, including vanity 844 numbers, making them available to businesses nationwide.

Burlington, VT (PRWEB) March 05, 2014

800response, the leading provider of vanity 800 numbers and cloud-based call tracking and speech analytics solutions, announces the release of hundreds of new 844 vanity numbers and toll-free numeric phone numbers.

According to Laura Noonan, vice president of marketing at 800response, “Since the original release of 800 numbers almost fifty years ago, we’ve seen the demand for toll-free numbers continue to rise year-after-year. To meet the demand of businesses who use memorable toll-free vanity numbers in their advertising campaigns, and toll-free tracking numbers, the industry has had to create new toll-free area codes, the latest being 844.”

Business owners and advertising agencies can now activate these new 844 vanity and call tracking numbers through 800response, who routes calls based on the geographic location of the calling party, which is known as shared-use technology.

According to a recent study from American Express, 63% of Americans continue to prefer direct contact through live conversations over the phone, or face to face, to resolve customer service related issues, like returning products or assistance with a product, versus contacting a company through email, social media or chat.

“While 800 is still the ‘gold standard’ in toll-free, these new 844 vanity numbers will fill the void the industry has been experiencing, providing companies and their advertising partners with many more opportunities to obtain a vanity number that suits their business. We know the majority of people today still prefer to reach the companies they do business with and have a human connection through a phone call, so it’s important, and a smart strategy, for these companies to advertise a phone number as the call-to-action for consumers,” says Noonan.

Vanity numbers are valuable to businesses as they establish and develop brand presence. These advertising response tools are also proven to generate twenty-five to fifty percent more inbound leads when used across all elements of an advertising campaign like DirectTV response, television, radio, and outdoor advertising.
