On December 3, 2013, co-hosts Lee Kantor and Stone Payton of Results Matter Radio on Business RadioX® welcomed to the studio Sandy Hofmann, Kitty Chaney-Reed and Kristine Nagel, all recipients of WIT's 14th Annual Women of the Year in Technology Awards.
Women in Technology (WIT) is an Atlanta-based group that develops and promotes women for success in technology in Georgia. WIT gives women a plan to blaze the path in their technology career, from volunteering to becoming the Woman of the Year in Technology — with opportunities for training, mentoring and leadership along the way. The top technology women in Georgia utilize WIT’s programs and connections to develop their leadership skills and increase their visibility in the business community.
Held on November 14th at the Georgia Aquarium, WIT's 14th Annual Women of the Year in Technology Awards celebrated women technology executives for their accomplishments as leaders in business, visionaries of technology and women who make a difference in their communities.
Recipient of this year's Legacy Award was Sandy Hofmann. Hofmann applies her experiences as a C-suite executive through her service on numerous boards. She has been recognized for her leadership as Georgia CIO of the Year and was the first recipient of the GCLA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Hofmann is also the co-editor of CLIMB: Leading Women in Technology Share Their Journeys to Success.
Next in the studio was Kitty Chaney Reed, the Global Leader of Quote to Cash for NCR Corporation. Reed was WIT's Enterprise Award Winner this year. Reed was recognized for her accomplishments as the business leader of a multi-year, multimillion dollar enterprise continuous improvement initiative for NCR. This enterprise initiative involves technical and process improvements that are targeted to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
Rounding out the panel was Kristine Nagel, WIT's Mid-Market Award Winner. Nagel is Associate Vice-President of Educational Technology Development and Evaluation at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC), where she has a leading role in planning and coordinating activities related to the design, development and implementation of new academic and instructional tools at the newest four-year institution in the University System of Georgia.
