Saturdays and Sundays in September and October were set aside for public-service projects, with volunteers, listeners and Family Life Radio, joining hands to make a difference.

At Hope Fest in Tucson, more than 15,000 came and were served by hundreds of volunteers in the community. Needy families received free groceries, clothing, haircuts, hygiene and household items, and medical and dental services. Family Life Radio’s Johnny & Stacey broadcast live from Kino Stadium, reporting on the event and interviewing local ministers who served the crowd.

In Phoenix, Ariz.,, Family Life Radio volunteers partnered with North Phoenix Baptist Church and central Phoenix schools for window washing, landscaping, maintenance and power-washing.

In Albuquerque, N.M., Family Life Radio was joined by friends from Chick-fil-A and Sandia Labs in giving the Boys and Girls Club of Central New Mexico a makeover. More than 50 volunteers, painted, landscaped and put gravel on the parking lot. Sandia Labs gave the club’s technology lab new computers, a desk and cubical.

In Macon, Ga., volunteers cleaned the women’s wing of the Macon Rescue Mission and organized the pantry.

In Florida, listeners helped the Panama City Rescue Mission by planting a garden, doing yard work, and making lunch.

In Michigan, workers gave free oil changes and car inspections to single mothers in Midland, at Suderman’s Auto Customizing and Service, and at Schafer Chevrolet in Pinconning. One single mom said, “No one has ever done anything this nice for me!”
Family Life Radio’s Vice President of Ministry, Evan Carlson, thanked volunteers and staff for their efforts across the network.

“Real transformation in our communities occurs when we are willing to get our hands dirty,” Carlson said. “So on behalf of Family Life Radio, I want to thank everyone that gave of their time and talents and served their local communities.”

“This year has been an incredible year in serving our communities. We are looking forward to 2014 as another year of powerful ministry. We will go back into our local communities and provide tangible service in areas of need,” he added.

Family Life Radio, with ministry headquarters in Tucson, is dedicated to igniting transformation by affirming faith, inspiring hope and equipping each person for healthy relationships with Jesus Christ and with others. Reported by PRWeb 4 days ago.
