Apple Launches iTunes Radio Today, Apple has launched iTunes Radio, its long-awaited music streaming service. It's been released as part of the iOS7 update.

A competitor to services like Spotify, Rdio, Pandora, and Google Play Music All Access, its centerpiece is playlists or "stations" based on the music that already exists in users' personal libraries, generated from iTunes' entire catalogue. "So the more you use iTunes Radio and iTunes, the more iTunes Radio knows what you like to listen to — and the more it can play music you'll love," the iTunes Radio site says.

It features genre-based stations and more. If you're listening on an iPhone, you can make requests using Siri.

The service is free and supported by ads, unless you subscribe to iTunes Match, in which case there are no ads.

iTunes Radio is available on all Apple devices and within iTunes on Windows-based devices. Reported by Pitchfork 7 hours ago.
