Radio needs to start listening

This is Staffordshire --

I AM writing with regard to the letter from Andy Archer of Brown Lees (Sentinel, August 10).

I absolutely agree with all that was written.

Mr Archer covered all the grievances of Radio Stoke's listeners.

However, I would like to add that hopefully, the people running the station will eventually come to their senses and give the listeners exactly what they would like to hear.

Furthermore, I would like to say that us listeners should have some say on what and how it is broadcast.

We are paying for this service. If they had no listeners, there would be no Radio Stoke

So why do they continue to ignore us?

The people of Stoke-on-Trent want to listen to presenters who were born here, or have lived here for most of their lives; who have knowledge and understanding of the area, so as to report and discuss properly.

I would be very interested to know where the current person running Radio Stoke originates from.

Then again, as with everything else, we won't get to know, I suppose.
