Swell has raised $5.4 million in a Series A round of funding led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Swell makes an app that offers personalized talk and news radio similar to the way Pandora Media offers personalized music channels. Also joining in the round were Google Ventures, InterWest Partners, Correlation Ventures, and Draper Nexus Ventures. The company, founded in 2012, previously raised $1.8 million in a seed round led by Google Ventures.
