A meeting on Thursday will bring Arlington a step closer to getting its own independent community radio station, ARLnow.com reported. In October, the Federal Communications Commission will allow community groups in urban areas to apply for low-power FM radio stations. Arlington Independent Media has been working on plans to apply for a license to start a community radio station serving the Arlington area. The meeting Thursday will serve to gather supporters, discuss the next steps and to find resources.
