"There’s something going on every second," said Adam, 29, in between songs and phone calls from listeners on a recent night doing his show, which airs Monday to Friday, 7 to midnight. [related tag = philadelphia limit =5]"Twitter is non-stop — I get hundreds, thousands of requests. I'm constantly on Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter," he said. "Girls are always calling up, saying ‘We’re in our dorm room getting ready to party!’ I love that." But the Bridgeport, Connecticut native had to struggle to get to where he is. An ethnic Albanian, Adam grew up with his mom and little sister and was working in the family grocery store by age 14. "I was always motivated to be a hard worker," Adam said. "I fought hard to get in the door, and I still say yes to everything like I did when I was an intern." Besides the Q102 gig, Adam interviews musicians for "Music Beat" on PHL17, has his show syndicated on Kiss FM Phoenix and Kiss Greensboro North Carolina, and pens a column for PopStar! magazine. "I'm a workaholic," he admits. [caption id="attachment_426968" align="aligncenter" width="614"]

Kanye West, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and the boys from One Direction have all graced Adam’s studio for interviews. "Anybody you can imagine, if they’re coming to Philly, they’re stopping here," he said. The key rule to interviewing stars is keeping it real, Adam said. "If there’s an elephant in the room, how am I not gonna ask the question everyone wants to know? Then I wouldn’t want to listen to that!" he said. "I don’t want to sound like every other jock. You don’t wanna hear something you coulda just Googled. They’d call bulls---, especially in Philly!""It's part of the job. These things you know or you don’t even crack the mike."

*Is it a fun job playing your favorite tunes?*

"I listen to these songs 5,000 times," Adam said of Q102 playlists. "I like it for the first however many days ... but clearly, I enjoy what I do." Here's a sample playlist from a recent show: -Ariana Grande/Iggy Azalea - Problem -DJ Snake/Lil Jon - Turn Down For What -Katy Tiz - The Big Bang -Ed Sheeran - Sing -Paramore - Ain't It Fun Love it?
