Work on Behalf of National Science Foundation as Well as NPR Recognized by the Washington Business Journal
Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 30, 2014
The Washington Business Journal honored Studley, the leading global commercial real estate services firm, with several highly coveted awards at the publication’s annual Best Real Estate Deals event on April 24, 2014.
The National Science Foundation was recognized as Deal of the Year and Best Suburban Office Lease. As the tenant broker working with the General Services Administration, Studley orchestrated an intense competition among developers and county officials, which ultimately led to the selection of Hoffman Development’s Hoffman Town Center along Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria. The Studley team consisted of Executive Managing Directors Mett Miller and Rick Barnett, Executive Vice President and co-regional manager David Lipson, and Assistant Directors Tim Mazzucca and Samantha Kurtz.
The Best New Office Development award went to the National Public Radio Headquarters. NPR considered nearly 100 potential locations across the DC region before settling on 1111 N. Capitol Street. The move brought about 800 D.C. based employees to the North of Massachusetts Avenue neighborhood and will allow NPR to bring several divisions previously in three separate buildings under one roof. Studley’s Executive Managing Directors Art Greenberg, Vernon Knarr, Julie Rayfield and Associate Director Parker Lange represented NPR in the search and negotiations.
Lastly, Studley’s work as the tenant broker for Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, was recognized as a runner-up in the Urban Office Lease category. Pillsbury signed a lease in January 2013 to move to 1200 17th St. NW from 2300 N. St. NW. Working on behalf of Pillsbury was Executive Vice President David Lipson, Vice Chairman Lois Zambo, Senior Managing Director Steve Tassi, and Associate Director Tyler Bensten from Studley.
