Alliance for Women in Media Foundation Announces Moll Anderson & Nancy Giles as Hosts of 39th Annual Gracie Awards® Luncheon

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation announces that Moll Anderson, host, The Moll Anderson Show on iHeart Radio, and Nancy Giles, contributor, CBS News will serve as hosts of the 39th Annual Gracie Awards Luncheon. This event will honor the accomplishments of women in media and entertainment at the local, public, online and student levels on June 11, 2014 at the New York Hilton Hotel in New York City.

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) is pleased to announce that Moll Anderson, host, The Moll Anderson Show on iHeart Radio, and Nancy Giles, contributor, CBS News will serve as hosts of the 39th Annual Gracie Awards Luncheon. This event will honor the accomplishments of women in media and entertainment at the local, public, online and student levels on June 11, 2014 at the New York Hilton Hotel in New York City. A celebration that spans two coasts, the Gracies Gala will honor national winners at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on May 20.

The Gracies recognize exemplary programming created for women, by women and about women in all facets of electronic media, as well as individuals who have made contributions to the industry. The awards program also encourages the realistic and multifaceted portrayal of women in entertainment, news, features and other programs.

“The Gracies’ Luncheon is a wonderful chance to recognize the amazing accomplishments of women in so many forms of media,” said AWMF Chair Kay Olin. “Moll Anderson and Nancy Giles represent a diverse range of media and reflect the Gracies’ strong commitment to recognizing the accomplishments of all markets of talent.”

Moll Anderson is an accomplished television and radio host, author, interior designer, and life stylist. Moll’s career has been filled with many professional achievements – from winning an Emmy for her work as an entertainment reporter, being chosen as one of Donna Karan’s Women Who Inspire, and a two-time recipient of the Gracie Award for Outstanding Host Lifestyle program for The Moll Anderson Show. The Moll Anderson Show is heard every Saturday 6 PST/9 EST on iHeart Radio under America’s Talk.

“It’s an honor to be included among so many amazing and accomplished women, those who have blazed new trails and shown the way for others in media and entertainment,” said Anderson.

Nancy Giles has been a contributor to the Peabody Award winning CBS News Sunday Morning since 2002 where she delights viewers with her witty, timely social commentaries. Her work on Sunday has been honored with an Emmy Award and two Gracie Awards. She’s also voiced her opinions on shows like MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry, Hardball with Chris Matthews, All In with Chris Hayes, CNN’s Showbiz Today, and CNBC’s Street Signs. She began her career touring with the famed Second City comedy troupe, won a Theatre World Award for her off-Broadway debut in Mayor, and was recently in the ensemble of Love, Loss and What I Wore.

“The Gracies are my favorite events of the year,” said Giles. “They're such a wonderful way to honor the unique work that women are doing in an array of media.”

The Gracies are presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Alliance for Women in Media that supports educational programs, charitable activities, public service campaigns and scholarships to benefit the public, the electronic media and allied fields. The Gracie Awards, established in 1975, honors programming and individuals of the highest caliber in all facets of radio, television, cable and web-based media, including news, drama, comedy, commercials, public service, documentary and sports.
