Negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers will begin on May 5, the union said Sunday.
The announcement came after SAG-AFTRA's national board met this weekend in Los Angeles, and unanimously approved proposals for the upcoming primetime TV and feature film negotiations. The current 3-year deal expires on June 30, and the talks will be held at the AMPTP's headquarters in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Ken Howard, president of the combined Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television, Radio Artists, will chair the TV/Theatrical contracts negotiations and national executive director David White is the union's chief negotiator.
The approval of the package follows the meeting of the SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Contracts Wages & Working Conditions Plenary Committee in April 5, in which the committee approved the proposal negotiation package for presentation to the national board.
