"Light up the coffee bean and toke heavily."
Leave it to teens to find a new thing to crush up and smoke. Skip the coffee and cigarettes— reports are coming in of America’s teenagers picking up a new habit: coffee smoking.
Lighting up ground coffee beans is the new trend among teens looking for a caffeine rush. There are even websites devoted to giving step-by-step video tutorials on how to hand-roll a coffee cigarette or smoke the beans using another apparatus.
While this bizarre new fad, also called "vaping," smacks of “kids these days,” parents should note that coffee smoking can have dangerous side effects, including trouble breathing, dizziness, vomiting, and even hallucinations.
Not everyone is up in arms about the coffee smoking sensation.
"We're about to legalize marijuana all over the United States, I think we can live with a few bean heads,” commented one radio host.
