Harold Camping, radio evangelist who predicted world would end in 2011, dies at 92

WASHINGTON — Harold Camping, a Christian radio evangelist whose fire-and-brimstone sermons provoked an international frenzy in popular news media after his prophecies of Armageddon coursed through the Internet and social media in 2011, died Dec. 15 at his home in Alameda, Calif. He was 92.
